Access Statement for Number 10 Guest House

 

Introduction

Number 10 Guest House is situated in the beautiful village of Bathampton, 2 Kilometres/1 mile from the centre of Bath on the Warminster Road (A36).
The centre of Bath is a 20 minute walk and there is also a frequent bus service from the bus stop 150 metres/160 yards from the property.
We offer 3 bedrooms, two of which are on the ground floor and share a private bathroom, the other is en-suite and is on the first floor.

Pre-Arrival

  • For full details and maps of how to reach us please see the directions section of our website. Alternatively, you can plan your journey by car or public transport using www.transportdirect.info; simply enter your postcode and ours, which is BA2 6SH to get directions.
  • The nearest railway station is Bath Spa, which is 3 Kilometres/2 miles away (a 30-40 minute walk). Taxis are available at the station.
  • The nearest bus stop is 150 metres/160 Yards from the property – ask the driver for "St Georges Hill, Bathampton". There is no shelter or seating. All buses can accommodate one wheelchair. The No. 4, 264 & 265 buses run to/from the bus station beside the railway station every 15 mins Monday – Saturday. The 265 runs every 2 hours on Sundays.
  • The pavement on the street leading to the property is paved.

 

Car Parking and Arrival

  • There is ample parking in the paved car park which has a flat area nearest the property and a slope from the road.
  • There are two 80mm/3" steps, one to the porch and the other into the front door.
  • The front door is 800mm/31.5" wide.

 

Welcome Area

  • Guests are welcomed in the hall which is carpeted.
  • The area is evenly and well lit with overhead lighting.

 

Bedrooms

  • There are two bedrooms leading from the ground floor hall, each with a double bed, dressing table, wardrobe and wash basin.
  • All the doors to the bedrooms are 700mm/27.5" wide.
  • The en-suite bedroom is on the first floor and contains a king size bed chair and dressing table and built in wardrobe.

 

Bathrooms, Shower-rooms & Toilets (En-suite or Shared)

  • The shared bathroom is on the ground floor, off the hall and contains a lavatory, a basin and bath with separate shower over the bath with a thermostatic mixer.
  • The bathroom door is 700mm/27.5" wide and the side of the bath is 600mm/23.5" high.
  • The en-suite shower room contains a lavatory, a bidet a wash basin and a walk in shower which contains an overhead rose plus a hand held shower. The water is controlled by a thermostatic mixer.

 

Public Areas - Halls, Stairs, Landings, Corridors

  • All floors are carpeted except the dining room which has a wooden floor.
  • All rooms have adequate lighting.
  • There is a continuous flight of thirteen steps to the first floor bedroom with a hand rail on one side.

 

Dining Room

  • The dining room is situated on the ground floor with 30mm/1" step from the hall.
  • The door into the dining room is 800mm/31.5" wide.
